Is there any risk in meditation?

Posted by Admin on 23rd September , 2008

I’ve been receiving so many interesting questions from many people regarding meditation, and I’m glad to be given the opportunity to answer them. Today’s questions are fairly simple to answer so we’ll go through them one at a time.

Question: When can I start?

Answer: You can start meditating immediately. Many people assume you need years of special training sitting alone in a cave chanting a secret mantra to learn the art of meditation. This is far from the truth. You can start today and begin to experience the incredible benefits of meditation.

Question: Is there any risks involved?

Answer: No. There are no risks involved in meditation – only positive benefits. As long as you meditate in a quiet place, free from distraction you will be fine. Do not EVER try to meditate while driving, running, operating any type of machinery, or doing any kind of physical task that requires your undivided attention. I think the above is fairly obvious but I figure I’d mention it just to be humorous… ;-)

I hope this helps answer your question. Leave a comment below and let me know what you think!

How To Stay Awake During Meditation

Posted by Admin on 20th September , 2008

Another great question I received was about staying awake during meditation. When I first began meditating I did fall asleep several times. It wasn’t until I discovered the real secret and purpose behind meditation and that I began to become more aware and experience wonderful benefits.

Question: How do you keep from falling asleep during meditation?

Answer: What I discovered is that when you focus single minded on the rhythm and depth of your breath, meditation becomes a more conscious and involved practice and staying awake becomes not only easier, but more natural and pleasant.

Start by practicing the conscious control over your breath. Your breath is your life force energy. So the more you focus on controlling your breathing, the greater control you will exert over your mind and body, and staying awake will become much easier. Practice breathing deeply and listen to yourself inhale and exhale to a steady relaxing rhyth.

Personally practice keeping my breathing rhythym steady by counting my heartbeats as I breath. I breath in very deep and slow for 6 heartbeats, then hold for 2, then exhale for another 6 heartbeats, then hold for two. This helps me maintain a steady breathing rhytyhm which keeps me aware and focused.

As you continue to practice your breathing, it will eventually become naturally deep and steady. So start practicing conscious control over your breath and you’ll be able to stay awake and become more aware much easier.

Hope this helps. Leave a comment below and let me know what you think.

Deep Meditation and Spiritual Entities

Posted by Admin on 20th September , 2008

Today I want to answer a quick question I received from our survey. I think it’s an interesting question so I’ll give the best answer I possibly can

Question: “Does getting in a deep meditative state leave yourself open for other spirits to enter your body?”

Answer: No. Entering a deep meditative state does not leave oneself open for other spirits to enter the body. Meditation is a safe, natural way to experience higher forms of awareness, which help reduce stress and cleanse and rejuvenate the body.

There have been times where I have entered some very deep meditation states, and the experience was mostly just total peace and calm, and feeling the presence of the eternal consciousness.

Although I do believe spirits exist on some very deep level, they are not interested in (maybe not even capable of) entering into people’s body during meditation. You do not need to worry about spirits entering your body when you enter into a deep meditation. You only need to relax and enjoy the incredible benefits that meditation has to offer.

Hope that helps. Let me know what you think in the comments below.

Self Meditation

Posted by Admin on 20th September , 2008

Self Meditation is a meditation technique to help promote more self awareness so you can live to your fullest potential. Self Meditation can also help you gain more inner knowing of who you are, and where you are going. Gaining insight into your self, is the first step towards discovering your unlimited potential.

How to do Self Meditation

To begin self meditation, start with the regular transcendental meditation technique, calming your mind and body through deep breathing. As you enter a deep state of meditation, begin to see yourself as you are right now. Gently ask yourself these questions; Who am I? Where am I going? Am I living to my fullest potential? Take your time, answering each question honestly with full acceptance.

Once you have answered those questions to your satisfaction, imagine you see a duplicate of yourself, standing in front of you. This duplicate self is yourself living at your highest potential, in all areas of your life. Ask your duplicate self what you can do to live to your fullest potential. What qualities does this full potential self have, that differ from you? Ask your higher self for a message of guidance in life. Ask how you are doing so far, are you on the right track?

You’ll find that by asking questions to your higher self, you’ll receive inspiring answers that will guide and help you along the way. You should perform self meditation any time you feel you need guidance, or inspiration. Your higher self can help you through hard times on the journey of life. With more self awareness, you can make better decisions, leading to a fuller and more prosperous life, ultimately living to your full potential.
