Mantra Meditation
Mantra Meditation is a type of meditation that uses the repetition of a mantra, or affirmation. A
mantra, or affirmation, is a positive statement of a desire or intention which is repeated and meditated on in order implant it deep into the subconscious mind.
Example: "Everyday my actions lead me towards more happiness, success, and wealth." Mantras are considered a powerful and effective way of reprogramming one's subconscious mind, the seat of all habitual ways of thinking, acting, and doing.
How to do Mantra Meditation
To do
Mantra Meditation, the individual should be comfortable performing
transcendental meditation. Before you begin, take a minute to understand the most important aspects of successful
mantra meditation.
- Emotion - Repeat every affirmation with relaxed, but intense emotion.
- Concentration - Maintain a continuous concentration on the meaning of the mantra throughout the entire meditation.
- Repetition - Continuously repeat the mantra throughout the entire duration of meditation.
- Rhythm - Repeat the mantra to a regular rhythm.
As you begin to meditate, you'll hear thunder claps.
Start to breath in deeply as you hear the first clap. When you hear the second thunder clap, exhale slowly and recite your mantra. Then simply repeat this process throughout the meditation. Inhale on the first clap, exhale on the second and repeat the mantra. Only repeat the mantra on the second clap. This way you are reciting your mantra once every 20 seconds.
In Mantra Meditation, it is important to maintain a regular rhythm in order to firmly impress the mantra into the subconscious mind.
